What is it about Alice in Wonderland that inspires such brilliant art?
Besides the drugs.
EDIT:
Also, this incredible Chris Appelhans painting of Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum. A bit different than the Disney version!

oh i luv this fairy tale! it's indeed inspiring, truly magical.. don't know either why it's such an inspirational source!
is marilyn manson's scary movie about alice in wonderland out yet? haha
ooo cool! i loved your quote "besides the drugs" haha ;)
Maybe just the alternate world--which is what art is, right? And it seemed to come at the right time, perhaps a time of antimythopoesis--my own word--and so the mythopoeic was required and the story stuck, became an enduring part of the Mind, and continues to inspire.
Ahhh, I'm tripping!
xx
this is gorgeous... and i love the new header... man i love the sixties. gina xx
i adore the first picture

and then just click on the files under the "alice in wonderland" heading.
i think they are so terrific.
I think artists find it hard to relate to the real world sometimes and Alice certainly didn't understand it either. We feel comraderie with the little girl lost...
I love the one with the yellow.
Belle.

I HAVE RETURNED! BREAK OUT THE PINTS OF OAK-MATURED MEAD! Okay, that was odd. But the point is that I'm alive and I posted, so check it out if vous wish.
:^)
I'm afraid it's just the drugs. I've always been fascinated with the story and art and personally loved the influence in the whole Matrix movie trilogy...
Love your posts girly.
