It's that time 'o' the year again, kitties! 2007 is winding down, and I am here to tell you what the best and worst singles of the year were, as of my own opinion.

Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothing"
Yes, I loved "Stronger" for the Prince mention, but "Can't Tell Me Nothing" was my favorite of this year. So moody, great sample, fantastic lyrics. Kanye was also looking pretty fit in the video, as well as wearing an extremely attractive scarf.
Word Single of the Year:
Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend"
I will spare you the video, as I definitely do not want people hearing her music, and particularly this song, on my blog. This was easily the worst single of the year. The lyrics were pathetic and did not rhyme, which annoyed me to no end. Avril Lavigne is a shame to Canada, an otherwise great country (please forgive us for Bryan Adams, Nickelback, Celine Dion and Shania Twain too).

Wait just a sec. Hold tha phone! I like Celine. Yeah, she's had some big cheesy/corny hits and all, but somehow I like her. I dunno y. The woman can sing. She does have an amazing voice, and seems like a generally nice person/humanitarian.
Of course, I don't own anyof her albums mind you, BUT STILL!

Avril bothers me. She's getting sued for stealing the words to that song too. Completely not worth stealing.
And as for Canada, you represent! Fashion Verbatim is also adding to your country's reputation, as far as I am concerned.

Avril Lavigne makes me sad. I'm not going to rant about how she's a poser, because that word is completely overused. However, I hate how she's all "I am SO TOO COOL FOR THIS FAME THING, Jesus why am I here? I should be jamming in my basement or something."

and, look at that lip-gloss? You may say it is a skill mastered in boring classes in middle school (even in interesting one, like mine:) and it is, because I've seen it. But Avril has made a career out of it! Ever since the complicated video, I've been in awe of her glossy little lips. I don't care if she rhymes or not. Turn off the sound. Look at the shine!
Poser? I gotta add that my first reaction to Avril was, "Punks don't wear lip gloss." Hello!
And, though I admit I am obsessing about the gloss, I can still think other thoughts:
I hate Celine. She might be a wonderful person, but I don't care. I don't care if she can sing, either. A lot of my most hated singers can "sing." That feretty faced f*$k from Journey can sing, but I'll focus all the hate in my soul on those singers whenever I think about them. Which is too often. (if I have any left over after I've shined it on W and his posse.)
"Love is when I loved you"? I know she didn't write that, did she? But what the hell is that supposed to mean?!?!?!?!?!?
