thank you falettinme be mice elf agin

If I was the type of person to say "ZOMG", I would be saying it right now. A few people have nominated me for the Thinking Blogger Award. I was really pleased to receive this award because I do feel like my blog doesn't really fit in with most of my blogging "friends'". It's not a fashion blog, so it doesn't get awards of that nature but it is (apparently) a thinking blog, and I love that.

What’s the story behind the name of your blog and your nickname?
I detail the story behind the name here but to make a long story short, it's a quote from my favourite poem by Allen Ginsberg, Howl.

Why did you started blogging in the first place?
I had a friend with a blog and I thought it seemed like a fun way to express myself.

What has been your best blogging experience? What about the worst?
Not to sound overly cheesy but seeing my words and ideas on a professional looking webpage is always so exciting. The best part, though, is the comments I receive with feedback and the e-friends I've made. The worst part is probably the pressure to be witty, creative and post often. I'm not complaining though!

What do you think will happen to your blog in 2008?
Hopefully, my blog will get better and more popular and continue to grow up I achieve world domination.

Since we're on the subject of my blog, I've been thinking of adding advertisements. I'm not sure about it though, as I feel it could potentially really cheapen my blog. What do you (the readers) think?

I like the new header. I haven't visited for a while (bad me!) I understand your relationship with your LPs. I have been especially delighted to find the "Jesus Christ Superstar" soundtrack (double LP with the song book. Yay!)and "Ina-gada-de-vida"(this one is purely a piece of music history). LP just feels better than cd's. I bought a Nick Drake cd but I really wish that I'd stalked Ebay for an LP instead. Don't get me wrong, the record is great but I need the pops and cracks that are telling of the music's true age. I'm a bit of an old soul I guess.

you just mentioned how you don't particulalry fit in with your blogging peers, but that's why we (well, at least I) love you! when i need a break from fashion (not that i only post on fashion either, but a lot of it ties back to fashion) I check you out! you're witty, informative, and just downright charming.

dunno how i feel about advertisements, but i kinda agree w/ alex's comment haha.

I had ads, because I wanted to make money. But, honestly. Who cares! You don't need them.

Advertisments make you money. I'm materialistic as hell, so I say go for the ads(that's why I put them on mine, I'm going to France this summer and I would like to be able to buy more than one Laduree macaroon). Anyone who says they'll cheapen your site can enjoy living off cheetos and mini water bottles.

Erm, anyway, congrats on the award! You deserve it.

advertisements annoy me, but whatever floats your boat.

Congrats! I love Allen Ginsberg's poetry. He was one of the first poets I discovered independently as an adult....well during my college days. I also like Jack Kerouac's collection Mexico City Blues, Pablo Neruda, and a South African poet Ingrid Jonker among others.

Congrats on the award! Your blog is wonderful!

WOW! I too have been mulling over putting ads on my bloggy too! Hmmm...do people really click on them anyway, or does it turn them off to one's blog. I wonder.

"The worst part is probably the pressure to be witty, creative and post often." Yes, and with our busy schedules, finding the time sometimes to blog can also be hard. Gotta keep it going, lest you lose your already devoted fanbase.

I have them on my page but I honestly don't know why, given I've made a grand total of twenty-three dollars in the past couple of months. I say go for it.

Congrats on the nod!
