"i dont give a fuck" - my dear jack at the mtvma's

A cute quiz Money Miss made

IF MY LIFE WAS A MOVIE
What would the soundtrack be?
I've been listening to lots of Parliament Funkadelic, and I totally idolize those crazies right now.
What fashion designer(s) would design the clothes? Biba...Nicola has shown me the way. And other great vintage clothes like Mary Quant, Bus Stop, Gunne Sax and lots more.
Who would be the romance? I'd probably have Captain Jack Sparrow, Keith Richards, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Kiedis, Mick Jagger, CC Deville, Prince, Arlo Guthrie....all the usual boys fighting over me.
What genre would your movie be? One of those awesome semi-trippy 60s movies with lots of artful nudity, Day-Glo colours and over-the-top makeup.
Tag 1 blogger: An excellent blogger I recently discovered...Hannah Danger!

Oh, yes, and my movie would most definitely include this scene:

Not because the joke is funny, (and I hope it doesn't offend anyone) but mainly because just looking at Jack Nicholson and hearing his voice makes me smile.

4. What's your favorite soda?: I don't really have a set favorite. Lately I've been digging that..purple...kind. Grape, I suppose. But I just feel so retro ordering grape soda...or orange soda 5. Do you have satellite? Er, no. What kind of lame question is that?
6. Where did you go to college? Not yet, duckies.
7. What's the longest road trip you've been on? All over the States with my family...it would've been cooler with friends, but it was still amazing to go to San Francisco and Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, etc.

13. What does your screensaver look like?: I think it's just the Windows thing flashing around (not in a nude-y way, that would be quite disturbing) How very dull. I wish I could make it something cool.
14. Do you have an iPod?: No, I waste all my money on concert tickets.
15. What's your biggest pet peeve? I have a few: People who think Christina Aguilera is the best singer ever; really bad covers (especially of the Beatles); how untalented people get famous on their looks these days

Okay, that wasn't actually funny.

39. How many myspace groups have you joined? If by Myspace, you mean Facebook, then... 58.
40. What do you think of standardized tests?: "In theory I hate them- they’re really oppressive and I don’t think they’re an accurate measure of intelligence or how much you deserve to attend a certain school- but I actually like the vocab sections. I hate the math ones, though, and I’m not such a big fan of the ones where you have to read a huge passage and summarize it or whatever- I’m not that kind of reader."

Don't judge me.

stolen from maya

1. PICK OUT A SCAR YOU HAVE, AND EXPLAIN HOW YOU GOT IT. Well I have a purple scar on my knee, I love purple so it's quite lovely actually. I was in North Carolina at a beach house and I with my cousin was walking back to his beach house and then I realized we had gone down the wrong road and their house was the next road down, across a canal. I'm very lazy so I didn't want to walk all the way around the canal so I decided we should swim across the canal. So we jump right in and swim across (and I can barely swim, just dog paddle, really) and when we get to the other side we realized the side it covered with barnacles, sot there's not way to get out. So I ended up cutting my knee on the barnacles getting out. It bled like mad but the beautiful purple scar makes it worth it.

2. WHAT IS ON THE WALLS IN YOUR ROOM? I should really just take a picture and show you...

These pictures do not do my fantastic room justice. Though there's a bit of my aluminum foil wall, along with a sweet Fraggle Rock poster (hippie muppets win all) in that last picture.
3. WHAT DOES YOUR PHONE LOOK LIKE? I don't have a cell phone. I can't afford it, and besides, I don't want to be contactable at all times. Who knows what I might be up to?
4. WHAT MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO? Prince, Love, Jefferson Airplane, the Rolling Stones, Bowie, Parliament Funkadelic, the Mothers of Invention Van Hunt, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Nico and Michael Jackson (and the Jackson 5) are the main ones now

5. WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT DESKTOP PICTURE? Oooh, it's so excellent, I'll share. That's David Crosby, from CSN(Y) and the Byrds, for those of you who don't know.

6. WHAT DO YOU WANT MORE THAN ANYTHING RIGHT NOW? To have been born in 1947. And to be married to Arlo Guthrie. We would have gotten married in...1965, when we were both 18. But we had an open relationship, so I managed affairs with Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, Anthony Kiedis, Prince, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Jim Morrison, CC Deville, Keith Richards, George Clinton, Bill Clinton, Brian Jone, George Harrison, Donovan, Marty Balin, Johnny Irion (okay, maybe not as he'd be my son-in-law), Jimi Hendrix, Andre 3000, Jack Nicholson, Rick Schmidlin, Johnny Depp, Mark Wahlberg, for starters. Oh but before we got married, we spent some time living with the Merry Pranksters in La Honda, where I had affairs with Ken Kesey, Neal Cassady and Sandy Dis-Mount. For our honeymoon, we took a vacation to India with Allen Ginsberg, where I became best friends with Marianne Faithfull. I would of course escort my husband to Woodstock. In 2006, we adopt Cory Kennedy and Mary-Kate Olsen.

7. DO YOU BELIEVE IN GAY MARRIAGE? Well, to be honest, I'm not a big fan of marriage at all. More than half end in divorce or seperation and marriage wasn't even invented for love, it was invented as a way to merge two families. That being sad, I think gay couples should have completely equal rights to that of straight couples. To paraphrase my favorite politician of all time, Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, the government has no place in the bedroom of the nation.
(But just so I'm not a hypocrite, marriage to Arlo Guthrie is always okay.)

8. WHAT TIME WERE YOU BORN? I'm not sure I'll ask my mom, haha. I know I was born on a Tuesday, by C-section because I was so late (I was supposed to be born on Mary-Kate and Ashley's birthday!), even then I was lazy

9. ARE YOUR PARENTS STILL TOGETHER? Yes

10. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO? The Mothers of Invention, We're Only In It For the Money, "Concentration Moon". My new obsession!! I will be posting on them soon.

11. DO YOU GET SCARED OF THE DARK? It's sort of complicated. I can't sleep in the dark by myself, but when I'm with people I can. I just don't like being alone in the dark. Or seemingly alone. Oooh...

12. THE LAST PERSON TO MAKE YOU CRY? Arlo Guthrie.

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE COLOGNE / PERFUME? I don't wear perfume. They all smell the same to me....and it's not a very pleasent smell. And some girls definitely overdo it.

14. WHAT KIND OF HAIR/EYE COLOUR DO YOU LIKE ON THE OPPOSITE SEX? I don't like making specific physical demands, because I always seem to break them. Typically, I love really dark brown hair and green eyes slay me. But I don't usually notice eyes unless they're incredible.

15. DO YOU LIKE PAIN KILLERS? Do I ever...

16. ARE YOU TOO SHY TO ASK SOMEONE OUT? No, too lazy. Plus I don't even want a boyfriend.

17. FAVE PIZZA TOPPING? Pesto.

18. IF YOU COULD EAT ANYTHING RIGHT NOW, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Some cherries would be delightful.

19. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU MADE MAD? Prince, for being so damn clever with his spelling on "G-Spot". F-I-N-A-L-L-Y....I get it!

20. IS ANYONE IN LOVE WITH YOU? Is anyone not in love with me?

So, Peter Jackson ("Lord of the Rings" guy to me...even though I didn't actually watch the movies) is making the excellent novel The Lovely Bones into a movie and I'm so so excited, as long as Dakota Fanning isn't in any way involved.

seven is a good number

I've been tagged by the amazing Eddie to reveal seven songs I've had on heavy rotation lately. It was hard choosing seven, but I excluded anything from my sidebar and anything I've had recently in my Greatest Lyrics Ever (Marianne Faithfull...)
But here it is: Seven songs I love and recommend you download/hunt down, in semi-alphabetical order (it was supposed to be alphabetical, but then I messed up on Busta Rhymes..if I wanted to be really particular [read: anal] I'd move him down to between Prince and the Rolling Stones)

1. "Moonage Daydream" by David Bowie

My favorite Bowie song. Love it, especially the lyrics. (Photo credit: www.bowiewonderworld.com)

2. "Light Your Ass on Fire" by Busta Rhymes ft. Pharell
Ahahahahahahahhaa.
"Hmmmm"

3. "The Soft Parade" by the Doors
"This is the best part of the trip, this is the trip, the best part, I really like...what'd he say?"
4. "No Sense of Crime" by Van Hunt
Neo-soul man covering Iggy Pop. Brilliant. 5. "Baby Be Mine" by Michael Jackson
As you may (but probably don't) know I'm a recovering Michael Jackson a-d-d-i-c-t. Like seriously, intensely fanatic. So I can't go "Billie Jean" or something. This is probably my favorite track off Thriller.
6. "Sexy Dancer" by Prince
I have to have Prince on her. Early Prince. Sampled by FUCKING Justing Timberfake.
7. "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?" by the Rolling Stones
This is the coolest picture ever of the Stones. I have it as a poster, but my psoter is black and white and so I had a fit when I saw it in colour.
Er, the song's pretty good too.

Continuing the cycle? I encourage anyone who reads my blog to do this on their own blogs. Who knows what delightful picture you might find?

i like chocolate milk. a lot.

So I got this survery-thing off the beyond-amazingly-cool blog If You Can't Think of Anything Nice to Say...Come Sit Here By Me (www.alarmclockcatastrophe.blogspot.com) and, hey, I'm doing it. Not necessary to read the whole thing, but it wouldn't hurt. You might learn something. About Me. Oh joy.

1. You have $10 and need to buy snacks at a gas station, what do you get?
A magazine first of all. Probably People. Then some All Dressed chips and a chocolate bar...Crispy Crunch, mmm. Am I supposed to spend it all? That leaves me about enough for a drink. Chocolate milk, possibly.

2. If you had to be reincarnated as some sort of sea dwelling creature, what would you be?
One that can fly...hmm. Maybe I'd be a larvae or whatever, and then grow into a frog. They can prettymuch fly.

3. Who's your favorite Redhead? I don't know a lot of redheads. Therefore I couldn't pick a favorite.

4. What do you order when you're at an IHOP?
Sausage. Chocolate milk. For breakfast, I presume? Maybe some belgian waffles with strawberries? I dunno. I don't think we have IHOP in Canada, so I don't go often.

5. Last book you read?
I haven't finished it yet, but I'm reading "Fever: How Rock n Roll Transformed Gender in America" by Tim Riley. It's pretty good, though Prince doesn't appear as often as he should, seeing as he wears high heels and makeup fairly regularly (everyday?)

6. Have you made out with anyone on your friends list?
Like, my MSN friends list? If so, er, yes. My blogger friends list/links? Er, no.

7. Describe your favorite pair of underwear.
Um. I'm good.

8. Describe the last time you were injured.
So I got some lovely faux-snakeskin gold shoes from Value Village. The injury? Err, pretty much anything I'm walking in them.

9. Of all your friends, with whom would you want to be stuck in the middle of a jungle?
Mick Jagger.
What? It has to be someone I know?
Oh, okay. Er, Katie probably. Because she's got mad snake-fighting skills.

10. Are there any odd things that make you feel uncomfortable?
You know what, oddly enough, doesn't make me feel uncomfortable? Awkwardness. I sort of embrace it.

11. Are there any weird things that turn you on?
Old wrinkly rock stars. Mmm, sexable.

12. What is the wallpaper on your cell phone?
I don't have a cell phone. But, so I don't disappoint you, the b ackground on my computer is Jefferson Airplane.

13. Soda?
Eh. I can take it or leave it. Sometimes I like it, but usually its too fizzy. I'd rather have chocolate milk.

14. Flavor of pudding?
Chocolate is the only way to go.

15. What type of shirt are you wearing?
A shirt of one of my favorite bands Love, which I got off eBay.

16. Prescription medication?
None that I take regularly.

17. If you could use only one form of transportation for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Flying. Obviously.
(not the airplane kind of flying, the swimming-in-the-air kind)

Where did the other questions go? Emma? Were they a bit personal?

20. What are you listening to right now?
Some Crosby, Stills and Nash. "Almost Cut My Hair". My favorite CSN.

21. Most recent movie you've watched in a theater?
Wow, I haven't gone to see a movie in theaters for ages. Probably "Pirates of the Caribbean 2". Oh, lord, that is awhile ago.

22. If you could invent one thing, what would it be?
A time machine.

23. Name a teacher you had the hots for?
I've never actually had a crush on a teacher, unfortunately. It seems so glamorous and exciting.

24. What's your favorite town?
San Francisco. Hands down.

25. Favorite kind of cake?
As long as it involves icing and chocolate and no effing carrots, I'm good.

26. What's the first word that comes to mind right now?
Pumperknickel.
Oh God. That can't be healthy.

29. What did you have for dinner LAST NIGHT?
I was at Suzanne's last night and we had...perogies. And then some really good ice cream. Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Brownie Dough or something.

31. What's the last thing you said out loud?
"Almost cut my hair...it happened just the other day"
See, I always sing along to music. And those were the words that went with the music. So I sung them.

33. Look to your left, what do you see?
A lava lamp, a speaker, an organ, some candles, an African bean-grinder thing. A fireplace, a poker, a painting, a footstool, my parents record player and a Crosby, Stills and Nash album, though curiously enough, not the one I'm listening to. I'm listening to the Crosby boxset and the album is CSN.

34. Who is the last person who spent $100 on you?
My parents around Christmastime probably.

35. Go into your text message log on your phone ... the last text you received?
I don't have a cell phone. I'm not popular enough.
Hahaha.

36. What's the last piece of clothing you bought?
Those aforementioned gold faux-snakeskin shoes from Value Village.

37. If you could be alone with anyone right now who would it be?
Alone and naked and screwing, you imply? Mick Jagger, of course.

38. What do you look for physically in a partner?
Physically? Individuality, good clothes, long-ish hair, dark hair.

39. What's the saddest thing that's happened to you?
I was born not-in-the-60s?

40. What is your motto in life?

"Take it easy, baby/Take it as it comes"
-The Doors, "Take It As It Comes"
