I'm reading "I'm With The Band" by Pamela des Barres, "groupie" extraordinaire and founding member of the GTO's (Girls Together Outrageously), probably the first all-female rock group.
If you're into the Sixties, like I am, this is definitely a great read.
She came of age on the Sunset Strip, with Vito and Szou and Captain Fuck and that crew (if you're into the Sixties, you'll know who I'm talking about). I've read four chapters (and one was on her childhood) and already she's fooled around with Noel Redding, Chris Hillman, Captain Beefheart, and other people, who aren't coming to mind right now.

The GTO's

So I'm thinking the GTO's are my new idols. Well, not quite. But they are pretty amazing. I had typed out some sample lyrics, but then I deleted them, because some people might find that offensive. And tell me to watch what I write on this blog.

And so I am.
