i dont have time for hate or love

Ahh, so the concert!
As you can imagine, it was great. Her voice is still fantastic, so husky and sexy. She wore a flowing black dress and moved very gracefully. In fact, she's quite likely the epitome of Aging Gracefully...she looks her age, but still very gorgeous. She didn't do my favorite song ("Why D'ya Do It") or Nicola's ("Sister Morphine") but it's all right because it was a great show. Oh and her guitarist was very sexy. His name was Ken Rose and he was in his forties, but you know me...age isn't a huge factor.
So after the show, we wanted to pull an Arlo and try to meet her. We waited for over an hour by her van with a number of other people though eventually it got down to Nicola and I, and our friend Genni and about four other people. A man came out and handed out a couple set lists and I got one. Then Ken Rose came out and I asked for his autograph and I also did something I was quite proud of: I hit on a middle-aged man for the first time. I told him I had a crush on him. He simply smiled and nodded, so I was pretty pleased with that reaction...I wasn't mocked and rejected. There was all this confusion about where Marianne was going to come out, and we ended up going to an alley out around by the stage door. Her manager came out and said that she was very tired and didn't want to sign autographs. She came out and said "Oh, I'm so very tired tonight, I was working hard, but I love you all! Thank you, I love you all!" And she did look right at us, so I suppose I will count that as meeting Marianne Faithfull though it's not on the level of our Arlo Guthrie encounter.
So that was very very exciting.
Tonight is Canada's Next Top Model s0 I'll fill you in on that tomorrow!
I'm quite busy so I don't think I'll have time to read any blogs tonight, which I'm disappointed about. Very sorry...

Awesome. I think you did pretty well. I shook Muddy Waters' hand as he walked up the aisle leaving the stage at Harry Hope's in Cary, Illinois in 1976, (I was quite young--my dad took me). His hand was warm and dry and he barely acknowledged me, but he was Muddy Waters! And I touched him. I'll tell you about Ginsberg, later (nothing risque). but you HAVE to read I'm With the Band by Pamela Des Barres, if you haven't already.

that is still a wonderful story, I especially liked the part about you hitting on a middle aged man...you always remember your first, lol.

Well done! I have to say, hitting on middle-aged man is something i'd never do. I have enough trouble with the ones my age...

Sounds like a dream come true! I am sure that middle-aged man was quite pleased ;-) I can't wait for CNTM updates!!! Oooh you have to post picks of Mr. Jay too, I am SO jealous, I read he isn't coming back to ANTM next year, he is all Canada, bb.

This bish definitely has a voice that stands out among the rest. Gravely and strong, her voice is the perfect blend to her awesome lyrics.

Glad you enjoyed the concert...

Why am I not shocked that you hit on that middle-aged dude? You rock.
