party time, step on it, pick up a dime...cool!

I had a very lovely weekend, and do you know what it resulted in? My brand new header!
I was hanging out with Nicola (http://nicolasvintageboutique.blogspot.com/) and Ally (as of yet, blogless, but give her time). Ally gave me a really rad white faux-fur vest, some cool vintage-looking shoes and a shirt that says "WELCOME TO MAD EIRA". Umm, exciting? Yes, I think so. But even more exciting was that I finally, finally watched two movies that I've been dying to watch for years...Performance and Valley of the Dolls.
They were both incredibly great, Performance was very strange, a bunch of sex scenes with some violence in between and lots of Mick Jagger at his finest! Valley of the Dolls was trashy as hell, but who isn't expecting that? It was great to see lovely Sharon in action.
The next day we went record shopping at the amazing record store The Turntable, where I bought Fleetwood Mac's Bare Trees and Betty Davis' They Say I'm Different.

Mmm, early pre-Stevie/Lindsay Fleetwood Mac. I love the cover, its so calming.

I've mentioned my mad love for Betty on this blog before, so you have an idea of how stoked I was.
Then, we were walking by some of those big wood panels they use to cover construction sites, and in my town, we cover those wood panels with quotes from famous poets, etc. and guess what quote I saw? That's right, Allen Ginsberg's ashcan rantings and kind king light of mind (for more on why my blog is named that, see http://psychedelicmess.blogspot.com/2007/06/and-kind-king-light-of-mind.html). Well, actually Nicola saw it, and took a couple great polaroids, one of me with the quote and one of the quote by itself...behold! A new header is born.

I love your new header! And Valley of the Dolls was a way better book than it was a movie, you should check it out if you haven't already.
