ooh, he's enough to drive a poor gal wild, aint he fine?

So I finally did what I've been wanting to do for a long time: I removed the blogroll/link list/whatever you kids call it these days. It was full of blogs that have been abandoned (R.I.P. If You Can't Think of Anything Nice to Say...Come Sit Here By Me, one of the most legendary blogs that is sorely missed) or blogs I never really even liked, but linked because they asked me to (not going to name names, of course). Anyone, I don't want to get caught up in the "politics" of blogroll...if you don't want me linked because I no longer have you linked, go ahead and remove me. I'm just no longer into the whole "exchanging links" business. There really are just a handful of blogs I read regularly and I like them enough that I can remember the address myself. If you have me linked and intend to continue to do so, thank you.

Anyhow, so I've been putting some thought into my ideal man. I know it's a bit of a pointless venture, as it's not something I can attain and therefore any boy I meet will have trouble living up to it, but I'm thinking of using this as a guideline of the type of guy I'd want.
I've whittled it down to a combination of two wellknown men, one fictional.
Steven Hyde is a work of art. For some reason, I went way too far in life without watching That 70's Show but better late than never, I suppose. Immediately upon viewing, I saw Hyde as more than simply a witty, attractive breath of fresh air (Kelso? Fez? As if. Eric? I'm on the fence.) He became a model for the type of guy I needed in life. Nicola and I have often found ourselves favorably comparing guys we know to Hyde. What is it about him? The Zeppelin shirts? The "don't care" attitude? The mean exterior that sometimes fades to reveal kind tendencies? The hair? It's the combination and so much more. Of course, it's a major turn-off that he spent so long in the shallow clutches of Jackie, but I can understand: Hyde and Donna as a couple would be too great. Like Zooey Deschanel and Jason Schwartzman: something so fantastic cannot be.
Of course, the sad truth is Steven Hyde does not exist. However, surely there are a number of boys similar enough and, if you are one of them......hi! I'm Molly.

Unlike Hyde, Andre Benjamin (a.k.a. Andre 3000) is a real man. And, oh, he is a real man. Andre 3000 has shown that he is an absolute musical genius and a deeply creative and unique person. His tastes are exponentially stellar. He named his child Seven. His children's show was not only awesome, it contained definite hints of - dare I say it - Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. He's basically a one-man, modern-day Parliament-Funkadelic...wait, stop. Too far! But he is absolutely amazing. The main problem is that if I ever encountered a guy like Andre 3000, I would feel completely un-worthy.

Could you imagine a guy who was a cross between Hyde and Andre??
A stylish, witty, nice-but-not-"nice guy", talented, creative, doesn't-give-a-fuck man.
And the tragedy?
He'd definitely be taken.

I just regularly go through my blog roll and delete the people who aren't updating. Usually after a month. For my own reading, I use Google Reader, but if I like someone else, I'm happy to drive traffic to them with the blog roll.

Hyde was always my favourite on That 70s show. He is so witty. Him and Donna together would have been amazing, why did I never see that before?

I seriously smacked myself on the head when you mentioned Hyde. I've been watching that 70's show reruns here every day. I love Hyde. Oh god...I really, really, think you are a genius. Gahhhh! I do have a soft spot for Eric though.

jeez louise, it must have taken a bit of courage to delete emma from your links, eh? i cling onto the hope that she is WATCHING OVER ALL OF US.
i think eric is my kind of guy, personality and looks -wise. he's tall and lanky and super awkward.
yes. that is my kind of guy, are you judging me?

Andre rocks.

It's such a tragedy about If You Can't Think of Anything Nice to Say, Come Sit Here By Me. I really think Emma is dead.

Andre Benjamin is pretty much perfection. Love his music too. Blog rolls are so political...but I'm too afraid to delete mine!

that 70s show was a great show
its weird to think how popular it was & how long it lasted in the 90s & 00s.

it says it ran from 1998-06

i don't know, i just can't say which "type" of man i like. i have a crush on someone else, like, every five minutes or i have crushes on 10 people at a time. when i see someone, i can immediately tell if i'll fall in love with him or not. i've never been wrong ^^
oh, and about the tragedy that he'd be taken: nothing lasts forever *sings even though she doesn't know any song with those lyrics, but is sure there is one* so he could break up with HER and get with YOU!

I know, I KNOW!! I basically had to take a most of summer break. I needed to move on from the break-up and that required lots of partying and not much blogging. Luckily much of that happened with our fabby back talk author, so glad we became real world friends. Anyway, I am making a slow but for sho comeback to blogging and blog reading, I have always kept up with your misadventures and fine choice of hot men. xoxo. ANTM blogging? yes?

Steven Hyde inspires me to mention my hero from THAT 70s SHOW! OOOOOO WEEE!

Andre 3000 is a genius. I totally agree. I must delve deeper into OUTKAST and more of his work, because what I have heard is terrific.

I've just started watching That 70s Show, and it's already one of my favorite things ever. Hyde kicks ass. It's definitely the hair. Or the amount of times he mentions "The Man" in each episode.
