downy sins of streetlight fancies, chase the costumes she shall wear

I know fur can be a touchy subject, my feelings run along the lines of "eh, anti-fur...who has the energy anymore?" I'm really not an animal person, and I just can't bring mysef to be too bothered about it. Yes, I've seen the "HORRIFYING, OMG, HOW CAN SOMEONE DO THAT" videos taken secretly by PETA (I don't want to get started on them, lest I find some dead tofu on my front steps or anything) members. I'm sorry, I guess I'm just selfish and insensitive (I can live with that, really, anonymous comment leavers), because I love how badass and rock'n'roll a good fur coat looks.
Case in point: Who knows, maybe when I mature a little more, I'll realize what a truly barbaric practice this is, but until then, my fox fur coat (that I am in the process of acquiring from dear Nicola) and I will have many an adventure, and hopefully none of them will involve being doused in blood.
Dream big!

I'm a fur lover. In high school I used to wear my Great Grandmother's old raccoon coat. I like to imagine that all the little critters just die of old age at the Old Furry Animal Home. I'm such a hypocrite...

Now..those were the times...

Hey, I just watched wristcutters again this week..that you mentioned it. Did you see him in spun? Unrecognizable..but still he was so original.

I'm all about men in fur...and I can't think of anyone better than John Phillip's album cover The Wolf King of LA!

it happen to me too.
I love animal and I feel sorry for them in the process of sacrificed their fur but i can't connect it with the fur coat some how. It's like guilty pleasure. So i decided what is done is done. The vintage fur is cool but the new is just not, that's it. Until there is a friendly process for taking fur or make a good fake one.

Pan's Holiday

See I don't agree with fur, but then I do think it looks so chic. So I have no idea what I think.

Everyone seems to be posting about fur lately! I don't know, you read my last post, I was rambling about a fur/leather coat there too. I like animals, but I don't have a problem with wearing fur or leather.
Apart from looking damn cool, fur also keeps you warmer than fake fur!!

By the way, which of my boots did you like - the black or the brown ones?

I've watched all those videos before. While so much of it is horrifying, I'll going to be honest in that I've got other things I'm more concerned about. I don't mind people wearing fur. I eat meat. I love meat. I'm not about to stop eating it because some animal was killed. Hope you like your fur coat. I remember my late grandmother had a really gorgeous fur coat.

I am a fur neutral person also. But I'm more of a leather girl. Fur & my blond hair look sort of...I dunno..well, I just wanted to say that I liked the pictures and I woudn't throw tomato juice on you.

I'm a bit hypocritical on the issue, I don't think we should be using real fur today but I don't mind vintage fur. My Mum used to wear it as a teen in Europe and it's almost a necessity in super cold climates. And I have to admit, I've been looking for a fur coat for a while now too....

I agree. Although I am an animal lover, I am not pro or anti fur. Fur coats whether real or faux are beautiful and I respect PETA for they're passion they always are extreme... Pelting flour, or tofu pies, why can't we all just get along and respect others choices? Plus I love a man in fur!!! So sexy!

Great pic, Molls ♥

I'm very much against wearing fur, but I find that the least fur-wearers can do is purchase garments made only from non-endangered animals. There's a big difference between endangered species, and animals produced specifically for consumption, who tend to increase in numbers rather than decline. Humans, other animals (because humans are also animals), and the environment are all mutually dependent - the disappearance of some affects the rest. Whatever their position on animal rights, I'm pretty sure most people would agree that variation of species is desirable and important.

Bless you Molly for being forthright and honest. Fur is fun and feels good, and poo on the vocal minority who would impose their beliefs on the rest of us. Sure we all have the right to choose whether we wear fur or not, but bank off PETA goon. And get your facts right while your at it.

Anyway Thanks for bringing us reasonable folks together.

Oh JDS223, I love fur too and would have given my left nut to have a grandma give me a raccoon coat to wear in my high school years. Since I was a little kid I always a wanted a raccoon coat -aodd as that seems. It wasn't until I was 50 years old that I finally bought myself a used raccoon coat. Better late than never -- and I love it.

Yes indeed, a fur coat can make you look very badass. I'm sure you do in yours, Molly ;) I'm just like you on this topic too, it's a hard one.
