i don't go round trying to be what i'm not, i don't waste my time trying to get what you got

Stuff That Impress Me:

  • How somebody manages to find a way to rhyme "ballin' ya" with "angels calling us" in that mediocre Lil' Wayne song "Mrs. Officer"

  • Exactly how far VH1 can push their spinoffs. Case in point: The Surreal Life becomes Strange Love which turns into Flavor of Love which produces I Love New York which gifted the world with Real, the love of my short life and Real Chance at Love.
  • This whole Miss California debate and how far beyond the point it's reached. Even though I personally believe gay people should be allowed to wed, I've gotta side with Miss California on this one. She was asked a straightforward question and she answered it honestly and, I thought, pretty diplomatically. With all the furor, I'd thought for sure that she'd revealed a forked tongue and screamed "FAGS MUST DIE" into the microphone. I'd really like to establish that I do support gay marriage and I do think beauty pagaents are silly and shallow, but how people are treating her is cruel and damn near hypocritical. She's not actually denying anyone of their rights - she's just saying her opinion.

  • This picture. Too. Much. Awesomeness. Cannot. Compute.

  • Lady Gaga's acoustic piano performances - how she takes her dance-pop hits and then plays them live just her and a piano, usually incredibly dramatically. I love it, this is how pop music should be.

  • Life, and how it always works out. And spring!!

okay, i love you :)
that grill/poet comment made me laugh out loud...not like "hehe lol", like actually out loud. and the vh1 thing is so true! how do they do it?!

and i'm actually with you on the miss california thing. first i should say: i hate beauty pagents. personally i think they're degrading, shallow and just plain stupid. and the way she worded her answer was a little off. she said in this country you can choose gay marriage or "opposite marriage", but that's actually not true. in this country you can only choose if you are in mass, vermont, or iowa. and i think it became SUCH a thing because she's from california where voters took away people's rights in november and she said "people have the right to choose....". but ANYWAY...i guess i'm saying i definately disagree with what she said, but she lost. she has no platform and if people stop talking about it it would be over. oh, i guess i'm excluding us ;)

I've never realized the depth of the spinoffs...wow. That is impressive. And I missed this whole Miss California thing! But yes, I agree on the free speech idea. I'm glad that you're feeling optimistic and enjoying life.

WHOA! how amazing is that field of flowers?! It's couture nature!

I feel really behind; what's this Miss America hoopla? I believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion. Period. It's unfortunate how hateful ppl can become when you don't agree with them. It's the whole mob mentality thing.

And, Lil Wayne cracks me up.

i am very impressed with the mtv spinoffs too. it's sort of insane how they just keep coming, haha.

Mmm, Lil Wayne is so wonderful. I'm an indie music kind of girl, and yet his catchy rhymes get me everyyyy time.

As trashy as I feel when I watch them, I can't get enough of VH1 reality shows (for the most part). I was watching I Love Money over spring break and my mom came in and asked why I was watching soft porn haha.

I think Miss California keeps digging herself a bigger and bigger hole. Lately she made a statement about how she feels that being gay is a choice that someone has, and that in her family she wouldn't be permitted to be gay. If she had just shut her mouth after answering her question, I would have a littleee more sympathy for her... but I know what you mean, and I love homosexuals and think they should absolutely have the same rights...

I just adore you... seriously, I can't waitttt to try on my new sweater :) Thanks again a millionnnn Molly, you're the BEST!

Hey Molly. Great post. Whether someone agrees with Miss California's answer or not, she's entitled to her opinion. We've gotten to a both where whether you give a more liberal or conservative answer to a question, you are attacked by the other side. It's such a shame that we can't respect differing opinions.

Thanks.

I agree with your Miss California comment. I think Perez Hilton is a dick. He asked her a question, she answered it. We are all entitled to our opinions...mine, gay marriage should be legal everywhere. Let Love Reign Supreme.

And you know I love Andre 3000!

As a GAY MAN, I'm gonna have to agree with you regarding Miss California. Sure, this individual seems to be living in the 20's, but she was asked a question and she gave an answer.

If gay people want to be respected and understood, they must do the same. Sure, it boils my blood to hear her answer, but I have to remind myself that this world is varied and we all must respect that.

Now... as far as ignorance, Miss California has it in bucket-loads. Sure, she has the right to her opinion, but it's true what Allison has mentioned. Her recent remarks aren't the most intelligent and I can't help but wonder if her dimness is intertwined with her answer...

Love you doll...

Life does always work out. I am really stumped on Daisy of Love. She was such a waste of space and they gave her a television show. I am so guilty of watching Rock of love. I think Miss California should be put in a space ship with a monkey so the monkey could teach her a thing or two.
