a goood weekend

I got the new Arctic Monkeys CD, Favourite Worst Nightmare and it's very good. Not quite as good as Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, but that album is pretty classic, hard to top. Alex Turner is just so so so sexy and brilliant.
I slept over at Nicola's and we watched the awesomely softpornographic Marianne Faithfull movie Girl on a Motorcycle. 80% of the movie is her on a motorcycle (in a skintight leather catsuit, with random close ups of her ass) and the other 20% is her having sex (in nothing). Still, worth watching to gaze at her amazing...haircut. What did you think I was going to say, perv?
Then we watched the Incredible, Incredible, Classic, Trippy, Wonderful Yellow Submarine. Something that isn't really thought about much today is the great wit of the Beatles. I know they didn't write the script, but it's quite funny. Like the "We're senile delinquents!" line when they get caught in the time warp and go all old. And Ringo's "hole in my pocket"...and it goes on and on.
Then in the morning, we watched Factory Girl. It got pretty bad reviews, but I enjoyed it, except the last little bit. I though it was a fun movie...EXCEPT Hayden Christiansen's horrible, awful, Natasha's-last-photoshoot-bad portrayel of Bob Dylan. I could hardly look at him and I felt very nauseous whenever he was onscreen. No wonder Bob Dylan didn't want the movie released. He probably doesn't want to be portrayed as some ridiculous crack fool...actually Bob Dylan is too cool for all of this. But his 'people' know its wrong.
And it is.
So so fantastically wrong

i saw a little bit of some season of canada's next top model and it is so bad compared to ANTM. i dont know why but all the girls there were just... blah. hopefully the new season will be better! that marianne faithful movie sounds interesting... i would watch it though. I dont know how to say that without sounding like a porny old guy with a beer belly. dont picture me like that. picture me like a normal, nice teenager. I TRY TO BE NORMAL

hmm good to hear that someone did actually like factory girl! i find andy & edie fascinating and i think everyone should at least give sienna a chance, she seems smarter than half the hollywood girls her age, but she is so overexposed from jude law crap that no one even cares anymore, she may actually be talented though!

hayden christensen is very attractive, and he was quite good in the movie shattered glass, but he does tend to get wooden sometimes...what a shame!

hmm i've heard so much about arctic monkeys that i must buy their CDs even though right now i'm not that into them...

I have the exact same feelings about the movie. It is cool but totally wrong in a way. And it is such a pity because this material could potentially have become a really cool movie. The setting and costumes are amazing.

I think the whole hype around the persona of Sienna Miller ruins a lot… The highlight of the movie is definitive Guy Pearce portraying Andy Warhol. I think he does a great job-

I HATE hayden Christiensen. He looks like such a whiney brat. Also, I wasn't a big fan of the new Star Wars movies, so HC can go to hell for all I care!!
I am still dying to see Factory Girl--glad you didn't hate it!
And the new Arctic Monkeys is good? Cool. I'll check it out.

Oh yes, "Yellow Submarine!" Amazing! Love the psychedlic animation and the music of course!

Why certainly The Beatles were witty! Just watch "A Hard Day's Night" or "Help!" and u get the idea!

You have some of the most slick, matured taste in music. I'm in awe. Love your selections girly...

Yellow Submarine was trippy to say the least. Just looking at the cover had me feeling like I was on a tab of acid. Hot.

I swear I don't do drugs...

Besos para siempre

I hate to admit it, but when he isn't mucking up my image of Anakin Skywalker for posterity, Hayden Christensen is actually kind of....hot, in a guilty pleasure kind of way *blushes in shame*
And I guess Factory Girl can't be ALL bad if it's about Edie.

And come to think of it, he wasn't entirely terrible in Episode III, maybe it's just that he makes a terrible romantic lead.

Holy crap! You're pretty damned cool! Very nice, colorful blog.

The new Arctic Monkeys kicks ass!! One of the best of the year (along with Arcade Fire's "Neon Bible" ... notice how I only like groups that begin with Arc).
